Capital Christian Homeschool Bands welcomes registrations for the 2026–2027 season. We serve homeschool students in Youngsville, Wake Forest, Raleigh, and the surrounding areas. Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Living Hope Community Church, 39 Tony Avenue, Youngsville, NC 27596.

Important Dates
Eligibility
- Students must be homeschooled in accordance with North Carolina law.
- Band students must be at least 9 years old.
- Concert Choir students must be at least 12 and able to read music.
- Jazz Band requires concurrent enrollment in Concert Band or Wind Ensemble.
- Middle school choir students must be consecutively enrolled in band.

- Registration fee: $35 one-time, for new families.
- Family cap: $175 per month, regardless of how many students or ensembles.
Payment Methods
Payments are due by the 10th of each month. You may pay online through the invoice link we send you, drop a check in the dropbox in the rehearsal room, or set up automatic monthly recurring payments.
What Students Need
Each student provides their own:
- Instrument, along with any instrument-specific supplies (reeds, valve oil, and the like)
- A sturdy black music stand with a solid back, about 20″ × 13.5″ — no open wire stands. We recommend the Peak SMS-20, available from Sweetwater
- The required method book for their ensemble
- A pencil, a respectful attitude, and a willingness to participate

A limited number of instruments are available to loan. Contact us if you need one.

Auditions
Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band require an audition. Email Jeff Fields at jfields@cchbands.com with your student’s name, grade, and instrument, and he will send the appropriate audition material. Auditions are due by August 15, 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join CCHB?
Homeschool students ages 9–19 (grades 4–12) who are homeschooled under North Carolina law. Band students must be at least 9; Concert Choir students must be at least 12 and able to read music. Families do not need to belong to any particular homeschool association.
When and where are rehearsals?
Tuesdays and Thursdays, September through May, at Living Hope Community Church, 39 Tony Avenue, Youngsville, NC 27596. Concert Band meets 2:30–3:20 PM, Beginning Band and Concert Choir 3:30–4:20 PM, Wind Ensemble 4:30–5:20 PM, and Jazz Band 5:30–6:20 PM.
Does my student need musical experience?
No. Beginning Band is for students who are new to a wind instrument or new to music altogether. Concert Band is for students with at least a year of experience. Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Concert Choir are by audition.
How much does it cost?
Tuition is $50 per month ($450 per year) for a student’s first band and $40 per month ($360 per year) for each additional band. Jazz Band or Concert Choir is $30 per month with another band, or $50 per month on its own. New families pay a one-time $35 registration fee, and tuition is capped at $175 per month per family.
Do we need our own instrument?
Yes. Each student brings their own instrument and instrument-specific supplies, a sturdy black music stand, the required method book, and a pencil. A limited number of instruments are available to borrow — contact us before purchasing or renting if you need one.
Are there auditions?
Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band require a recorded audition, due August 15 to Jeff Fields at jfields@cchbands.com. Concert Choir has a brief vocal range assessment. Beginning Band and Concert Band have no audition. See the audition page for details.
How do I register?
Read the participant handbook, complete the online registration form, then print and sign the Medical Release and Handbook Agreement forms and bring them to orientation on September 3.
